The Task Force has submitted its final report
Graduate student funding is a challenge for students along with universities across the higher education sector. It is a complex issue and the current affordability challenges that many in our society are facing have amplified the need for a thorough review.
At McMaster, understanding graduate student funding issues and solutions has been a priority. In February 2023, Graduate Council voted to approve the Terms of Reference for the Task Force on Graduate Funding. The group, which is chaired by the Vice-Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies, includes six Master’s and PhD students, six Faculty Associate Deans and the Deputy Provost.
Consultations were held across campus and they included the Graduate Student Association, graduate students, faculty members, Deans and Associate Deans, MUFA, CUPE and the broader university community.
The Task Force on Graduate Funding Report that was submitted to the Provost is now public.
