The Task Force wants to connect with you
The Task Force on Graduate Funding recognizes that any examination into graduate funding must include the voices of graduate students, faculty members and staff. Cross-campus engagement is key to properly capturing factors that are important to diverse members of our university community.
The Task Force also acknowledges that not everyone is comfortable engaging the same way. A mix of town halls, group discussions (round table), surveys and online tools will be used to hear directly from graduate students, faculty members, staff and other groups interested in graduate funding.
As a first step, the Task Force on Graduate Funding website was created as the go-to place for information. It includes a link to a form that campus community members can use to share with Task Force members their thoughts, comments and the questions they would like explored. The form will be kept active until the final report is delivered to the Provost and to McMaster’s graduate community.

As engagement activities are planned, they will be added here.
Format
- Series of back-to-back meetings were held over two full days
- Task Force Chair attended all meetings. Two Associate Deans and two student Task Force members participated in each meeting on a rotating basis.

- PhD Students Meeting
- International Students
- GSA
- CUPE
- MUFA
Format
- Attended by all Task Force members.
- Presentation by Task Force Chair. The content will be informed by the round table discussions.
- Question-and-answer period.

Format
- Members of McMaster’s graduate community were invited to share feedback, thoughts and the questions they wanted the task force to explore via an online form on the Task Force on Graduate Funding website. The form is now closed, it was open between February and October 2023.
