Faculty and staff directly involved with McMaster’s budget took part in an information session on June 10 that included a Q&A with the university’s budget leaders.
Participants heard more about the 2024-25 consolidated budget and McMaster’s fiscal position during the event hosted by Susan Tighe, provost and vice-president (Academic), Saher Fazilat, vice-president, Operations and Finance and by Budget Committee members.
Tighe presented alongside Nicole Wagner, budget committee chair and assistant professor of Information Systems. Wagner is also the director of the eHealth Graduate Program.
“I’m pleased to have had this opportunity to present directly to the faculty and staff at our university whose efforts contributed to a budget that achieves responsible stewardship of financial resources while supporting McMaster’s mission and vision as a global leading research-intensive institution,” Tighe said.
McMaster’s consolidated budget for the 2024-25 academic year was approved by the Board of Governors on June 6.
Several faculty and staff participated in the Q&A session.
“Hearing questions and feedback from our faculty and staff reinforced for me how passionate everyone is about McMaster and our shared mission,” Wagner said. “This type of discussion helps inform our budgetary decisions and contributes to having a collaborative and transparent environment.”
The information session represented a continuation of the efforts being made to keep the McMaster community informed about the university’s fiscal position.
