The University Librarian is responsible for managing all operations of the McMaster University Library and is a member of the Senior Management Team of the University. The McMaster University Library is comprised of three libraries including the Mills Library (Social Sciences/Humanities), the Innis Library (Business) and the Thode Library (Science/Engineering). The University Library also includes the William Ready Division of Archives and Special Collections. The combined collections of the libraries total more than 2 million books, 20,000 print and electronic journal titles, and an additional 30,000 e-resources. The library includes significant special collections as well. McMaster University Library is a member of OCUL (Ontario Council of University Libraries), CARL (Canadian Association of Research Libraries) and of ARL (Association of Research Libraries) and participates in a number of consortial projects including CRKN (Canadian Research Knowledge Network) and COAHL (Consortium of Ontario Academic Health Libraries) for digital content. McMaster Library is one of only 15 research libraries in Canada that is a member of CARL (Canadian Association of Research Libraries) and of ARL (Association of Research Libraries). The budget is more than $15 million annually. Staffing currently stands at more than 110 full time employees.
